Why is ice clear and snow is white?

I can't Figure It Out!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because since it's powder ice, the ice/water mollecules are shattered?

Not to mention snow falls in flakes, and those have intricate designes in them that are cut in to REALLY thin papers of ice. So thin you can't see through them?

EDIT: Maybe because when ice freezes, the mollecules all contract together?
