I've just watched This Is England after months of wanting to see it.

The verdict? Another awesome Shane Meadows film... It really touches on a sore topic and shows things for how they are (or were).

Anything this guy puts his name to turns to gold - Dead Man's Shoes, Once Upon A Time in the Midlands, Northern Soul, now this ...

British film making at it's best... and if you've not seen them yet, you probably should make an effort.

Any Shane Meadows fans here?

Hmmmmm, still not made my verdict on Shane Meadows. I kind of liked Dead Man's Shoes, but I felt the goodness was more down to the golden touch of Paddy Considine than Meadows, because I didn't like the direction in parts (eg. the farcical bits with the goon-like bad guys). I liked it a lot at first and then less on subsequent viewings.

I have been half-wanting to see This Is England for a while but haven't got around to it.

i really want to see this because i thought dead mans shoes was a work of art

****ing fantastic film

If you liked Dead Mans Shoes, you will absolutely adore this ... it's more than a work of art... It's epic.

Ok after more research on my part I've come to the conclusion that this is an English version of "American History X"...sort of, which is fine because it was a decent film.
