Games that ship without any form of subtitles...
I just found out that the new Alone In The Dark has no subtitles whatsoever for its audio, that's a great con for me, why you might ask? I suffer from partial hearing impairment, I am able to hear what most people say in games but I do have to focus to make it out many times and that isn't as easy as you might think when you're playing an action-game, IMO it should be STANDARD for modern games to include subtitles seeing as it makes the experience alot more pleasant for people with hearing problems.

End rant.

I'm partially deaf in my left ear so I too have to focus rather hard to hear the faintest of sounds, but I tend to get distracted by subtitles and never actually pay attention to the cinematics, but if you'd like, we can hire a lawyer and sue.

Yeah this really annoys me too. I have some hearing problems as well and in games like rainbow six I would really like subtitles considering they talk so quiet and freakin' muffled :flame:

Turn up the volume.

Or isn't that appropriate?

NATURAL SELECTION BITCH

Seriously, though. This sucks. My girlfriend wants this game for her birthday, and she needs subtitles as well, because her TV is broken.

then perhaps its not a game she needs for her birthday...

I use to have to put Subtitles on when my parents went to bed, because I didn't want to disturb them. Totally agree with you. I don't have to do it know has I have earphones, but I still agree with you

I always put subtitles on, i do suffer a bit with my hearing. I can hear music and sound effects, just when NPCs are talking i usually miss bits. I really hate when music is playing over dialogues when theirs no subtitles, cause then all i hear is the music with the NPCs muffling. There really should be no excuse for no subtitles in games now, looking at Assassins Creed.

I don't have any hearing trouble but i do agree it should be a standard. I always enable subtitles just to have a insurance i don't miss anything.

Even though I can hear fine, Is still use sub-titles, as most of the time in action games you can never understand what they are saying because bombs are going off or some shit, so it's easier to read.
