Anyone have any idea as to what specifically will be included in the "Collector's Edition" ? I do remember when HL1 came out that the first several days Electronics Boutique was giving away a baseball hat with the HL logo on it for every copy purchased....will HL2 included a hat or t-shirt or poster or f***ing crayons or something? What gives? What's the projected price?
 
No one knows what it will conain but im guessing a shirt, poster, baseball cap, perhaps some behind the scenes footage and/or concept art.

I belive someone said about 70-100$
 
I think it will be in a aluminium cover with DVDs.... maybe a t-shirt too... dunno about that though.
 
Pre order and you can get the T-Shirt now !! and its not a special edition just reg game at EB games.

So if there is a special edition to come out later it better have more then just a T-Shirt.

DVD sounds like something that would be cool, anything less then that wouldnt even be worth spending the extra buck.
 
im betting its a tin can with a raised logo etc, inside is a coupon for a free shirt (s&h extra of course) keychain, players guide, probly an action figure, special "making of" dvd, and maybe a free iron-on patch.
 
I really hope they DON'T have t-shirts, hats, key chains, wallets, other retarded promo crap. I really don't like that stuff and wouldn't spend money on it. I would never wear it, I think it would be cool if they had some behind the scenes dvd (unlikely) or maybe like a special add-on.
 
I'm guessing the three books from Prima, a concept art/behind the scenes book, and seperate CD soundtrack....and of course some spiffy box.
 
the dvd behind the scenes will be good
but in my opinion a behinds the scenes of a game is not so insteresting
 
You never know what might go on in Valve's secret underground lair.
If there is a collector's edition, all I can say is it had better be worth it's title.
 
Ohhhhh I'm hoping for a T-shirt. A nice black t-shirt with an orangs HL2 logo. Oh yeah............
 
i think valve will put something cool enough in it to make me drop more cash on it. im so hyped up for HL2 that im already planning on buying it without even knowing whats in it.

A Combine mask would be nice; it would be one step closer for friends to invade and takeover neighborhoods on Halloween. Oh the poor children and their bags of candy will not be spared.
 
Good idea. There are certainly enough of them around here lately to do so. Packaging might be a problem...
 
I honestly wanted a voucher for a free crowbar at home depot. That woudl be mega cool but that would lead to all kinds of law suits for kids wailing on their brother or sister with it. At the very least I want a aluminum can with a raised logo. It's should also be in DVD format.

Anything less and they can kiss my arse cuz I am not lame enough to wear their advertising.
 
Brian's got a point. Theres got to be some way of getting rid of all these headcrabs. They're eating me out of house and home. No, get off!
 
All contents to be stored in Gmans leather brief case (with the Black Mesa logo), and you can take it to school and eat lunch from it. I can just see it now, a spotty 10 year old kid walking into school, with a blue suit and a tie carrying the briefcase, and then that very kid mysteriously disappears in a green glow.

Oh, the usual DVD content, colouring books and crayons will do nicely if valve knows what's best for them. And vacuum packed headcrab brains (you can eat it)
 
You know what I'd like? A little headcrab model made from that squishy foam they make stress balls from...
 
I'm real hyped up about HL2 aswell - i'll buy the most expenive package whatever it includes.

But seriously that keychain crowbar idea RAWKED. That would be really kewl. Not a sh!tty plastic one tho, a metal one:p.
Maybe mod tutorial vids and concept art books or whatever would be cool.
 
When I pay extra for a game, there is no way in hell I would want a keychain. There are so many better things they could putt in. I like the sounds of putting in the headcrab stress ball. That's a good idea. As far as extra media content, I would love to have concept art and those cool planning pictures like in the first manual. I also wouldn't mind getting a leather DVD/Cd carrying case that could hold like maybe 10 discs. Somthing substantial and usefull. Then again they prolly allready know what's gonna be in the collectors edition so they won't take any hints.
 
you guys are silly, it obviously comes with a fully upgraded manipulator... a real life one :LOL: :thumbs:
 
I allready built one but it turned out it only manipulated genitals. So there are very few realife applications. I also made my own headcrab but the dog ate it. life is cruel.
 
I would like a HL2 poster, an XXXL black t shirt with orange lettering, some cool behind the scenes/making of stuff(perhaps on a CD/DVD), and oh yeah the coupon for a free crowbar at Home Depot - great for fending off the neighbourhood crackhead panhandlers. Of course I won't need to worry about them as I won't be leaving my computer once I get HL2. :)
 
err hello, HL2 isn't just coming out in America you know. We don't have Home depots so such a voucher would be silly.

It's a good idea eh ? I would love to get a free crowbar, I don't think I will go out and buy one for the hell of it. There is no way that scrawny Geek Freeman could swing a crowbar that fast. I expect somthing good, Not t-shirts. Who the hell would actually wear their advertising? I had a guy in my class who wore a Saturn Family t-shirt from their first meet that was 2 sizes to small. It was so lame, I swear to god it was like a giant hamster wearing a wrapper. This guy was the pinnicle of lameness. All I am saying is that I don't want this sort of thing souring my collectors addition.

Actually, a stressball headcrab would be sweet.
 
A HL2 case sticker (the little square ones) or something subtle but usefull for case modders. The headcrab stress ball thingy would be cool
 
I wouldn't mind having a stress-ball headcrab or a metal crowbar keychain

However, I really hope that the HL2 collector's edition will be the only way to get the HL1 port on HL2.
 
The day Valve actually pays attention to ones person with a good idea I will send you my stress ball if it comes out. As much as I would love that, it ain't gonna happen. Like making love to snakes, It all comes down to lack of communication.

Wonkers, what I wouldn't give for a poster-sized picture of the workings of your mind. It'd be right up there with Salvador Dali paintings...
