It's been a full month since I haven't touched my 360. So I turn on the 360 and download Lost planet online demo today, and try to play but the 360 freezes. Not a problem since its just a common problem, but as soon as I restart the console and it shows the logo, it freezes. It does that couple of times then it would show 3 red lights of doom!

What am I suppose to do?

Stage a one-man riot outside Microsoft and get numbers too give you some moltov cocktails. problem solved

I bought 1 year warranty from best buy and it's been 5 months since I bought the 360. Will I able to return it for a new one?

What about the saved profile and everything within my current console? Important stuffs that are saved in console like credit card for live. How do I erase them?

MS extended everyone's warranty by a year as their Xmas present.

you might want to email support, or read xbox 360 forums about troubleshooting.. or google even.

When I returned mine under warranty they switched the hard drive over for me. Just make sure you point it out to them when you take it in.

why'd you buy a 1 year warranty when microsoft offers 1 year of support free?

And common sense would say that, yes, you can return it. 12-5=???!?!?!?!?!?!?

At the time when he bought it, Microsoft didn't offer the one year return warenty :)

Just take it back to the store with your recipt of purchase, but keep take the hard drive out and keep it. They should just do a straight swap at the store.

Haha. Aaaand there goes mine aswell. I sort of saw it coming, been playing up a bit lately and all. Oh well, replacement will be done tomorrow.

crazy idea but why don't you wring up the number on your warrenty slip about the damn warrenty, don't you think they'd know better than us?

Well when the 3 lights of doom are on I believe you are buggered. I think it is something to do with the power supply and overheating but I would need clarification on that.

The only solution I could find to the problem was this.

: Ohh speaking of 360 trouble, DON'T HAVE YOUR 360 VERTICLE!

: I did that, and its sythed through my H2 disk, so now I can't play
: Metropolis, Arbiter etc etc.

: Basically its buggered.

if i don't hit it it will have the three red lights for months, def take out halo before moving your xbox.

To tell you the truth i got really angry at the xbox one day when it stopped working i smacked it couple of times and it worked, so now every time i get the three red lights i just show the xbox who's the boss by smacking it.

So you could try that. However Xbox 360 modders are figuring out to correct the problem so maybe it won't be too long before the situation is corrected.

I think it was overheating but isn't that a sign of two red lights? Anyway, my console was already hot when I turned on the console for 10 secs. I don't put my console vertical. Too much of a risk. I always put all the consoles horizontal.

Anyway, I switched to new one few days ago. Hope It doesn't show any red lights of death soon.

BTW, I found out that 3 red light means there is something wrong with the hardware. Pretty much means your 360 got ****ed up and there is nothing you can do except you can open it up manually and do something about it...
