I cant stand christian fundies like this, where the **** does he get off saying something like this. Hell I usually avoid the politics forum like it's some kind of bad omen but I saw this and just got pissed off to no end. I am not symathizer of any particular "side" in this issue, although my ethnic background is jewish, but what a ****ing rediculous thing to say.

Yet again, God proves his existence through circumstantial non-evidence, and a mind-shatteringly obtuse course of action.

Which thing did he say you're offended by? Trying to figure out which one.

But anyways, I don't like the guy.

Most christians that I know of, are rather fond of jewish people in general.

God’s revenge has been blamed for all manner of disasters ranging from the Tsunami to the HIV/Aids epidemic.

I am no problem with religion or peoples beliefs but like the thread starter it really pisses me off when religious extremisms cloud common sense and basic humanity.

It's the religious extremists who claim to know god's will, rather than the atheists, who will burn in hell. Not that I even believe in it.

man i hate fundies. Everything belongs in moderation, especially religion.

Riddle me this:

If it really were god's will, why would he wait for so long?
Also, why would he allow the guy to exist in the first place?

Oops!

Am I missing something or isnt the entire earth Gods land? I mean, its been pretty damn separated for a long ass time now. A lot of which was done in God's name.

What a jerk. I personally think the guy is a little nuts. Looks like he has Parkinsons too.

I wouldn't worry about what Pat Robertson says. Didn't he say that Mother Teresa was not a real christian anyway?

He's a loon.

No, he's an insane zealous bastard. Loons are awesome. They live in New Hampshire, look like enormous black and white ducks, and make cool noises.

Fanatics like him should be shot.

LIterally, round up the fanatics of EVERY religion, and shoot them all. Save us from getting wiped out by the bastards in a religous war :x

Isn't it nice to have something we can all agree on?

That's a t-shirt slogan, right there :)

I don't particularly like Sharon, but that's just not on. I propose we hunt down this fellow and roundly batter him with sticks in public and sell tickets and stuff.

This is the sort of idiocy that makes me feel embarassed for the religious community. I can't say I understand the religions/individuals that believe everything that happens to be God's will- the whole point of freedom of choice, surely, is that it doesn't have to be?

If god had anything to do with it, he would have Killed sharon for the evil he did to the Palestinians, not for the small nice(ish) things he did.

I wonder how many people would like to pump a slug of 00 Buckshot into his face.

So we've got me, that's one person

Pat Robertson is just plain batshit insane, don't worry about it.

more insane rambling but whackjob Robertson:

The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians.
-- Pat Robertson, fundraising letter, 1992

I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period.
-- Pat Robertson

Many of those people involved with Adolph Hitler were Satanists, many of them were homosexuals -- the two things seem to go together.
-- Pat Robertson, The 700 Club television program

If the widespread practice of homosexuality will bring about the destruction of your nation, if it will bring about terrorist bombs, if it'll bring about earthquakes, tornadoes and possibly a meteor, it isn't necessarily something we ought to open our arms to.
-- Pat Robertson, The 700 Club

When I said during my presidential bid that I would only bring Christians and Jews into the government, I hit a firestorm. "What do you mean?" the media challenged me. "You're not going to bring atheists into the government? How dare you maintain that those who believe in the Judeo-Christian values are better qualified to govern America than Hindus and Muslims?" My simple answer is, "Yes, they are."
-- Pat Robertson, The New World Order, p. 218

I think "one man, one vote," just unrestricted democracy, would not be wise. There needs to be some kind of protection for the minority which the white people represent now, a minority, and they need and have a right to demand a protection of their rights.
-- Pat Robertson, The 700 Club

Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history.
-- Pat Robertson

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected him from your city. And don't wonder why he hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for his help because he might not be there." --Pat Robertson, after the city of Dover, Pennsylvania voted to boot the current school board, which instituted an intelligent design policy that led to a federal trial

Not that I'm religious, but Robertson isn't Christian nor religious, he's psychotic.

Because he's too busy getting you free jackets? D:

Alternatively, you can take the Deism approach.

Fundamentalists of anything are terrible. Christian fundamentalists. Muslim Fundamentalists. Animal Rights Fundamentalists. Communism Fundamentalists (yes, I'm looking at you, Solaris).

Fundamentalism is just a cancer on the human mind.

Fundamentalism is just a cancer on the human mind.
Yup. If God should strike down anyone it should be whoever's running America(Bush doesn't seem to have the intellegence to run a race)

I'm not a communist fundemenalist. I'd post more but I busy trying to get everyone to adopt the same blank avatar and remove post counts.

Buh.....Strange indeed.

But please don't start grouping and sterotyping people with religous beliefs.

there is a programme on channel 4 on monday night (uk by the way) and its about wether religions of all types should be banned as it can cause all sorts of problems ie wars

Oh aye, its presented by that evolutionary biologist - 'Darwin's Rottweiler' they call him. Ive heard him in a debate with religious people, he just destroys them, its fantastic.

1/2 - The God Delusion

What with Jonathan Miller's Brief History of Disbelief and now this twoparter, atheism has had a good airing lately. Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins here mounts a bracing assault on "the process of non-thinking called faith", with its "childish certainties", "pretence of comfort" and "irrational roots [which] nourish intolerance to the point of murder". Vivid phrases like these are scattered through his commentary like peppercorns. Dawkins isn't a natural presenter, but his encounters with religious types are enjoyably feisty.

well gettin recorded ;)

just a thought

Is the anybody who actually listens to Robertson? I mean, isn't he just another village idiot?

There are thousands of them. A high majority living in Kansas :p

However, I will be listening to that program, sounds interesting

Just wached that programme I was telling you guys about. It seems the guy Jonathen Miller is quite arrogent in thinking that god dusnt exist but the reactions from the people he was interviewing was priceless. very good programme. the next part on next week same time and place ;)
