This "weird" Steam problem!!

Hello Mates..

I got a problem with connect to Steam Network. I am connected to my internet throu a router. I have unplugged it with out any success. I get this common error when im trying to connect "Could not connect to Steam Network. Either Steam network is down...and so on."
And now im out of thoughs. What can it be? Are there any ports to open?

I don't know what to tell you...except that i'm having problems today too......every server i try to connect to ends up giving me a " ERROR- server failed to connect to any". this is happening in steam, gamespy, through the dod exe.......AAAAARG! i was just playing yesterday, and the only thing i've done since then is install mcafee anti virus and firewall, but i've allowed steam, hl, dod, gamespy etc. to access the net, i've even tried again with the firewall off, but to no avail.....any tips for us poor folk people?

I've tried that now, to disable my Norton Antivirus. But it didnt help still same problem :/

Steam itself is a wierd problem.

I too connect through a router, no problems here. Try directly connecting from the modem..

Sometimes it just says that but if your Steam has never worked before then it's not that... I've got a router with no problem, firewalls and sutff shouldn't matter... Have you tried uninstalling, deleting the Steam folder and reninstalling?
