Thompson has shut down his website Stopkill.com (site for reporting that games made you commit a violent act). He's replaced the site with this rant:
Jack Thompson is the Miami attorney the video game industry loves to hate--and with good reason.
here's some highlights:
- The FBI and Secret Service found that games like these trained teen killers for their massacres at Columbine and other schools like Paducah. We increasingly have a nation of "Manchurian children," ready, willing, and able to kill.
- Jack has a Tyndale House book, Out of Harm's Way, arriving in November 2005.
- The D.C. "Beltway Sniper" Malvo trained on such games, as did the Columbus, Ohio, serial highway shooter Charles McCoy. The recent Red Lake, Minnesota school killer Jeffrey Weiss trained to kill on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
- Jesus ( :upstare: ) said, "If any of you should cause one of these little ones to stumble, it would be better for you if a millstone were tied around your neck and that you be cast into the uttermost depths of the sea." Jack Thompson is trying to tie that millstone around the violent video game industry's neck, and he needs your help. These people intend to do evil, but evil can be turned away by persistence and prayer.
- These people will not stop. They mentally molest minors for money, which is the root of all sorts of evil.
- In 2006 Rockstar plans to release Bully, which allows you to bludgeon your classmates and teachers--a Columbine simulator.
- Colin Powell said "America has lost its sense of shame." It hurts Jack Thompson, a life-long Republican, to note that apparently so has the GOP. Write President Bush and ask him to give Blank Rome back its blood money, so that what George Will calls "America's slide into the sewer" might be halted.
