He did make that one Harry Potter movie far more enjoyable just by being in it, so I guess there's a glimmer of hope.

Edit: Oh wait he's directing, heh. Don't think I've seen any of his movies, so I'll reserve judgment for when I (don't) see this.

This is exceptionally sad for me. Thor was MY FAVORITE comic of all time for most of my young life. I still love some of the awesome stories, but like everything good, it gets perverted by greedy assholes. Here is another case of that. This movie looks ****ing horrendous. I can only hope for some of the seriously kick-ass Norse mythos being thrown in--I want to see the fight with the Jörmungandr, the World Serpent; I want to see the desturction of Bifröst, the Rainbow Bridge; I want to see Ragnarök in all of it's destructive glory!! Still, I think I will likely see it just to see the Destroyer suit come into play--that was bad-assery at its best, very similar to the alien symbiote suit for Spiderman.
