Those cable cars....

On the cover of GTAIV, there is a picture of a cable car next to a bridge, and I happened to stumble across the actual trams during a cop chase. I tried to ride it, but the game wouldn't let me. Is it possible to get onto these cable cars? I only tried with a 6 star wanted level, so is that why I couldn't get on?

yes it's possible.

at least I seem to recall so...might be some use "f" to get in ala trains.

I think for the most part though I was trying to hang from them...niko is such a pussy and the thing barely moved and he fell off.

I don't think you have free-roam in them, much like you don't a train. The front cover shows someone having a fist fight in an open door on a cable car but it never happens, same can be said for the illustration of Niko hanging out the side of a chopper with a sniper. Oh well.

I remember getting on top of the cable cars in San Andreas. Then you just crouch and shoot at shit as you are carried along. Eventually you get an army of cop cars and shit just pursuing the cable car while you happily sit there and shoot away.

On the cover, theres a guy firing an AK out the side, which is totally possible with multiplayer. The the tram fight didn't happen. Also, where do the trains go in multiplayer, there must be a reason why they aren't included?

That's Niko, too.

But there's also another illustration showing Niko holding an uzi or some other weapon from the side of a chopper. I was talking about that specifically but got the two mixed up, but it doesn't matter too much either way.

He probably meant a tram, they drive around San Fierro

And yes, you can get in the cable cars in IV, you must wait for them to completely stand still before you can enter.

Oy vey...

The guy in the chopper on that cover is Niko with a rifle. In my original post, I recalled a picture of Nike also being in a picture hanging out the side of a chopper with a gun but this nor what we see on the box happens in the game, they're just advertisment images. I was refrencing another picture in my post, it just seems you've connected what I was talking about to what we see on the cover.

Oh, my mistake, I assumed your whole post was about the cover since you mentioned the fistfight in the cable car on the cover. sorry!
