Thunderbird problem.

Hello. I have this problem with MOzilla thunderbird, that some messages, alot actually, that I recieve contain an old text file that I once sent out to a friend for a play by e-mail war strategy game. The file is coming in attached from all sorts of people, from folks I don't know(which is pissing me off! but that's another story), to game companies like EA games. It's always called 1.2 and I think its something causing it on my end, but I don't know what it is!
