I got steam when if first came out, but it didn't really work out for me. I got rid of it, and went on with life. My hard-drive has crashed since then, and I lost all of my files. Now that Steam has been around, and is stable now, I decided to get it, only to find that it costs 40 bucks to play Counter-Strike. How can they charge money for a game that I've been enjoying for free? Is there any way around this, or do I seriously have to dish out 40 bucks?
