Tim Russert, who became one of America's leading political journalists as the host of NBC's "Meet the Press," died Friday, according to the network. He was 58.

IMO he was the best, most equal political show host for Meet The Press. I always liked his discussions of the presidential race or some candidate or just current events. It never was biased or acting all crazy and absurd like the normal politic show. They asked the right questions, ya know. Well, he had a heart attack and died at the age of 58. Unfortunately, if not ironically, it is also Friday the 13th of June 2008. :O ;(;(

Damn. He was one of the very few journalists I liked and respected.

His book was great.

Meet The Press was my Sunday morning thing pretty much since when he started doing it, I'm quite bummed about this. He was awesome. Very knowledgeable and prepared, infectiously enthusiastic, tenaciously asked the really important and tough questions, but with civility, grace, and humor. He was also genuine and caring off camera, too. I will miss him. :(

I didn't get to watch him that often due to me being in Canada, but he was easy to watch when I did manage to catch his show. He didn't have the condescending attitude that most American journalists seem have towards their guests. There wasn't any malicious intent or any pandering to a specific audience. The fact that he didn't pick a side when doing a debate was refreshing among the American media. I liked that he was fair to all of his guests, at least, in the shows that I was able to catch on TV.

Disappointing.
