time for an episode 3 subforum?

I don't think so. For a start, all we'd get is spam topics. Better to wait till we have some actual media to discuss, I think.

Not until theres something to talk about...right now all we have is community theories which wont really amount to anything....theres still alot to talk about in 2

idd it would propably only bring speculation

They might release a Teaser for EP 3 on November 16th 2007 since that was the release day of Half Life 2... or maybe release it during Christmas as a gift.

Or they'll release one when their closer to releasing it..

Give it a week or two.

How long after Episode 1 was released did you create the Episode 2 subforum?

Ep 1 took 2 years right? and ep 2 took 18 months I think? So hopefully ep 3 will take 1 year.

My god, I was just going to suggest one of these.

Merely because I'm so almost pissed off at the current number of "Oo, what do you think would be kwl in Episode 3" and "Wow, Ep3 shud have this..." threads in the Episode Two forum.

My idea would consist of a new forum entitled "Episode Three Speculations" and anyone who posts a new thread immediately gets stuck in a tank with an Ichthyosaur :).

Edit: ?5 a ticket to watch. I, of course, automatically get a 30% share.

I think you should open a episode 3 subforum, but make a rule to have only one thread named speculations untill we get something from valve

eh, i dont think we've heard enough about ep3 to start a subforum for it yet, it'd be better if we had something to work with from valve, THEN start the topic maybe.

I kind of agree, there is alot of episode 3 gossip cluttering up the episode 2 space, but all we know is that its about a ship, that arctic and it has advisors in a big combine place in some concept art. And heres a suggestion for valve, GET THE HELL MOVE ON WITH A TRAILER, WE'RE DIEING HERE.

Rock Paper Shotgun has an interview with a Valve guy, who gave a pretty damn good reason why it wasn't at the end of Episode Two:

RPS: A trailer for Episode Three was notable by its absence.

DS: We deliberately left that out for a number of reasons. One was we didn’t want to dilute the moment of the ending. I think if you’d watched the credits roll and then this high action Episode Three trailer came on, you wouldn’t quite feel the same. Another reason was to leave us open on Episode Three. We’re going to try and do something pretty ambitious for that project. We don’t want to over commit. If you look at the Episode Two trailer that we shipped with Episode One there’s some pretty radical difference between what you see there and see in finished game. That’s really an artefact of making a trailer for a product that’s still in heavy production. You just don’t know where you’re going to end up.
