hey theres a rumour going about theres a time machine in HL2. what do u guys think? maybe gordon has to go back to the original black mesa incident and stop the whole thing!

hmmm.....I was one of the 1st ones to state that but I myself think that it's wrong.

FFS. With the leak out, do you not think that maybe this is true and people don't want to have it spoiled for them??? Put it in a ****ing spoiler next time, not on the first line where it even shows up in the thread preview if you hold your mouse over it by accident.

gah, what a paradox

Hmm....well, VALVe have directly stated BM won't be in the game.
So, ukfluke, quit bitching until you know the truth.

I meant Link, for some reason, I saw your name in his place. Please forgive.

Don't be so narrow sighted. The rumour he heard didn't happen to be true, so we should just allow it? Are you telling me that if he had heard something that was correct and you read this by accident, you wouldn't be pissed off?

Now that the leak is out, I think its fair to ask that people don't post whatever in the first line of their post where I end up seeing it by not looking where my mouse is.

Uhm. This is "RUMORS and Speculation". He's allowed to post rumors here. That's the point of the forum. Get over yourself.

A time machine?!!!!!! No way. That would be a really poor story element. I doubt valve would implement such a horrendous thing.

I thought it was a teleporter. The downside was it took a week to travel to the other teleporter.

Valve said BM won't be in Hl2 what about hl3? Cause maybe at the end you find out about you need to go back and stop it and it finishes when you go into the time machine? then hl3... wait that would boring for hl3 unless something goes wrong and you end up somewhere else like further into future?

i hate time travel, its such a crock of sh!t. it too impossible to ever happen. half life is still some what realistic... the events which take place *could* happen... teleportation and all that malarky.

but please, for the love of god, NO TIME TRAVEL.

Well, time travel into the future is possible. That's just cryogenics, really.

Time travel to the past, however, makes me sad. It totally contradicts cause and effect.

one...time travel is theory, and theoretically is possible. of all the things in the world, cryogenics doesn't count, it isn't time travel, it's sleeping for a while.and it's already proven to be impossible.

the problem with cryogenics is pretty basic, when you unfreeze any organic matter on a microscopic level it starts to crack and break down, if this happend to your blood cells you die, and it will. the cracking occures from the expanded ice contracting, that motion causes organic or almost anything to break on some level. some things like glass and mostly anything not too soft and fragile can be frozen and reheated and be fine, just not too quickly, organic matter is just to fragile.

two, time travel is possible by approaching the speed of light.

i'm not going to get really in to this, just research it somewhere... like... google, or howstuffworks.com

Cryogenics works if they drain most of your blood and "flash" freeze you (The water freezes too quickly to undergo expansion, from what I understand). It's actually doing that that's the hard part.

It is not a spoiler, he's saying "Do you think maybe this would be in HL2? :] "
