Time magazine just posted the online version of "Out of the Xbox" article, which is all about the Xbox360. Here is the quote which is awesome!

(Note to the hard-core faithful: the next version of Halo will not, repeat not, be ready in time for the launch of Xbox 360. It will be part of the all-important second wave next spring. "It's perfect," Gates says, radiant with bloodlust. "The day Sony launches [the new PlayStation], and they walk right into Halo 3." Microsoft is expected to announce that Xbox 360 will play Halo 2 and other Xbox games.)

Muhahaha, nice strat M$!

<3 but its the BEST GAEM EVAR!111

If halo 3 is anything like halo 2, i'll just save that 50 bucks and buy a hooker and a smoothie... Sure you think its gonna' be fun, but after you pay the money you feel seriously dissapointed.

Halo was a classic science fiction shooter. The only letdown was the fact that it was rushed to make the launch of the Xbox (resulting in shoddy multiplayer and repetitive level design). Therefor it's probably a good thing that they're not rushing to complete the game for the Xbox 360 launch.

Halo 2 was hugely disappointing; mainly because you were jumping all over the place.
Just as you were getting into things, the story shifts gears to a different character. The transition was so bad that I kept forgetting what side I was on, and what my mission was. It felt weird playing the Master Chief in one level, then changing to the Covanent Elite (was he called the Arbitor?) for another level. It just really brought me out of the whole experience. It kinda maked the Covanent appear neutral; and that leaves the Flood as the only real enemy (and they weren't really that interesting anymore).
Anyway, now that the series is moving to an improved Xbox, we'll hopefully get to play the game that we thought we'd play at the previous E3's.

HALO would have become an awsome series if MS wouldnt have bought out bungie and made it an xbox exclusive title, look how long us poor pc gamers have to wait to get our hands on halo 2 , not forget how long it will take for halo 3

nah MS have ****ed it up imo

I don't see how MS ****ed anything up. I think some people need to drop their pitchforks and attribute the Halo series flaws to Bungie.

MS did something very smart making Halo exclusive for Xbox. More people bought the console(I did). I don't see why people bash Halo so much, it is a great game.

And why do people think Halo players are a bunch of kids??

Because halo got delayed because they had to do some recoding for the box and when it got out for the box it was cool, but its still a fps, and they are always alot better on a pc, plus when it got out on the pc it was outdated!

I just can't see the release of Halo 3 having any affect on the sales of the PS3 since around 99% of the gaming population out there won't buy both consoles at launch. They're more likely to get the Xbox 360 and wait for the PS3’s price to drop or put off getting an Xbox 360 in favor of the PS3

Gates is seriously overestimating Halo 3's potential...

I have to agree, he's over estimated it's draw power ...halo may have sold me on an xbox but nothing else since has made the purchase worthwhile ...if Halo 3 is anything like halo 2, I'll pass ..halo 2 was a snore-fest

Don't they have less time for making Halo 3 than they did Halo 2? I mean it seems like they are only going to have 1 year.

Wait. So the Halo series got ****ed up because it was delayed for a bit? Despite the fact that it was the most successful Xbox title for its time? Am I missing something here?

This "FPS games are better on the PC" crap is for the birds. I've seen no rationale to support it.

OMFG J00 DUM KId MOUSE AND KEYB0RED ARE Soooooooooooo MUCH BETTER OMGWTFLOL PC > OXYGEN!!!!1!!11

I mean, I suppose PC's are better than consoles for shooters. Assuming you have $1500 to buy one with decent hardware to let you see 25% of the pretty effects while keeping a decent framerate, and allowing you more crosshair precision.

If you don't have a wad of cash... I guess you can always play Counter-Strike.

Or, on the other hand, you can go out and get a console and a couple games for under $300, and end up with better performance, better graphics in most cases, and smoother control*. But who would want that?

*Case in point: Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Mouse control is far inferior to joypad control. Besides, racing games, sports games, fighting games, and arcade games (i.e. Super Monkey Ball) always control better on consoles, assuming you don't have an $80 PC gamepad.
