Remember back in 2001, when they were going to make Osama "Person of they Year"?
Of course they realized that even though he made the largest global impact, it was a stupid idea.

yeah i think its a good choice. though i think IM the person of the year.

Our original choice for man of the year was to be Gabe Newell of Valve Software. Unforunately, this attempt at greatness was botched by someone who gamers could only describe as a "lame h4x0r." The hacking of Valve Software's network caused the delay of the most anticipated game of all time, Half-Life 2. The enormous delay caused by the hacking of Valve's network has forced Newell to be expelled from the competition. So, in the absence of any real winner, our loving editor has decided that "going patriotic" would be the best approach for selling magazines this holiday season. Newell is expected to win next year's Man Of The Year contest if Half-Life 2 lives up to its hype, otherwise, the winner will most likely be Osama Bin Laden's only son, Tiger Bin Laden.[/QUOTE]

Man that thing that tells you your post is too short SUCKS. It's full of bugs.

And the American Soldier deserves every amount of praise they receive.

Wish a Happy Holidays to the troops!

Whether or not the war was neccesary is still kinda lost on me, but the troops deserve all the praise they get :)

I still woulda went with hobos tho...

I would of guessed Eric Estrada, that's just my opinion though.

i don't think that 'going patriotic' was the best decision made. surely there were hundreds of other legitimate potentials. i'm not gonna get drawn into an argument about this, but the US troops aren't the only ones out there in Iraq, and they're not the only one's who've got their backsides on the line.

i'm sure there are people more deserving of the accolade than Gabe Newell. but hey, i don't decide these things so i'll leave it at that.

That's very rude. Those Soldiers are putting their lives on the line for a good cause( A cause period, for those of you who disagree.),and you can't give them recognition?

BTW: They toppled Saddam's brutal regime, and have even captured him.
How the hell are they not winners?

To all foreign nations that sent troops: Sorry they weren't included, but it is an American Magazine after all...I think your nations would put your soldiers first, just as we do.
As far as I'm concerned; You guys are winners, too!

I guess it's the best choice, but doesnt make for very interesting reading material. We have been reading about them for the past 7 months anyway.

What about the Iraqi people? Certainly they deserve something for enduring this whole thing :(

Dammit the band Hanson didn't win again. Maybe next year guys. Maybe....

A man can dream can't he?
