Maybe that shows how bold and determined they are...Maybe the device is allready in place, or in the States...waiting to be detonated.
I don't know...don't underestimate them...They've allready shown they can be quite creative -if you'll excuse the choice of words-

I'm not underestimating them. I'd say it would be an underestimation to expect a terrorist organisation to announce that they would strike.

If anything, rumours like this are the weapon themselves. They generate Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt without costing a cent, and without needing actual guns or bombs.

Look.. you're already scared.. and theres not a shred of proof for anything. Spreading rumours is the oldest form of social sabotage to exist.

Hell, I've been scared for about half a decade. I got used to it.
But you are right. The purpose of these messages is to inflict fear.

But let's be honest the only thing we don't know is when?

So if it happens tomorrow, the day after or in ten years...the result will be the same....so I'm scared (to where this road of hatred and revenge will lead us)

Precisely why I love fear. Control leads to Order, and order begets Civilization. You might even say that civilizations were first founded due to fear.

I find that there's no good reason for people to live in fear of an event like this.

Think about it this way: You live your life in fear of an event that simply might not happen at all. If you do get blown up, then you were right, but the suffering lasts for maybe a second, and then you're dead. But if you don't get blown up, then you end up living your entire life in fear of an event that you had absolutely no control over, which never occurred anyway.

Really, it makes more sense (at least emotionally) to carry on living as you would without these threats. There's a chance you could get run over by a bus with malfunctioning brakes while you cross the street and get killed, but you don't worry yourself to death thinking, "Oh shit, maybe this time the bus will hit me!" every time you walk between the white lines.
 
unless you're horribly maimed/crippled/disfigured and survive, in which case you suffer for years and years.

I think it would be awesome to live in a world after nuclear fallout. Then I could find some guns, get a posse and take over a school building for my headquarters. Then we will pick on people until they surrender their life's sustenance and/or join my crew of hell raisers. We will continue to grow until we rule the entire town, and then I can finally call myself "The King of Town."
 
Its a big building, plus with a little modification (destruction?) it can be turned into a very defensible spot. Also, the windows are tinted black so you cant see inside which = shot before you know it.

Been hearing this shit since 9/11/01. Won't happen, guarentee it.

In fact, I wouldn't put it above our government to put something out like this for more leverage for more draconian monitoring measures.
