Tired of HL2: what other games are worth playing?

At the risk of being disliked, I must admit I am tired of HL2. It was amusing at first but now it is old.

So my question is, what other games out there are worth checking out?

I don't care about mods, as the vast majority of them are lame. I am thinking something along the lines of Doom3, Star Wars Battefield, (or was it Star Wars Galaxies?), but I don't know if I will like any of them...

I wouldn't check out Doom 3, since its quite repetitive. Far Cry or Battlefield 2 perhaps?

Reminds me of Handie, the smart-talking puppet sidekick of 1 Ton Man on The Tick.

Can't go wrong with Splinter Cell if you're looking to occupy your time with rewarding single player (probably MP too)

Who's with me on forming a Battlefield 2 Defamation League? I like it, but goddamn if it's not just 1942 with updated graphics and time setting. And the demo's the only thing that's out so far. Hype bandwagonites. I bet that in three months, if this thread was created again, everyone would post the same thing about some other game, mark my words.
