All that Diablo 3 hype made me wanna play a hack 'n' slash game, so I got TQ on the way back from work. Just installed it, so i am gonna try out all the classes before I start out properly. Has anyone else played this? Any tips are welcome.

I just tried the demo an hour ago. Seems well made and reasonably addictive.

If only Neverwinter Nights 2 had used this engine...

Played the demo too, I'd consider getting it if everything didn't feel really wonky.
Also, I hope it's just the demo's way of telling me to buy the game to explore more but I couldn't go find Leonidas because there's no other paths to traverse! D:

If it's that damn hard to find a path in the game I want nothing to do with it.
But then again, the Gold pack's only $20 on Steam... and I LOVE Greek mythology so I just might buy it later on.

I got to some skeletons after crossing a bridge then I quit. I didn't have trouble finding a path up to that point.

What the hell, I explored the whole damn area.
Got up to where you kill that giant Satyr shaman and couldn't find any other passages.

Also, do you get any weird performance issues? There seems to be an excessive amount of tearing.

I got major tearing at first but there's a v-sync option in video settings. No other performance issues.

I think there's an exit from town in the bottom-right. Two guards should be there.

It's lame how you can't rotate the camera.

I played this straight through a while back with a couple friends. We were playing in a LAN center so we were screaming at each other for heals and stuff, definitely some of the most fun Ive had, but yeah the the game is about 10 times more enjoyable with someone else. Kind of boring alone D:

+1 to what Adrik said, it's best played coop with friends. The expansion pack is worth buying, also.

Sure hope there's still plenty of players online.

It's good coop? I played it a while back but couldn't bother to keep playing. The combat was kinda boring and I just couldn't get into it.

Maybe I should give it another try with my girlfriend sometime.

Its better with anyone really.

I remember one night playing with a friend who had never played before. Me and the rest of the party noticed he was missing the next thing you know he runs right passed us screaming "RUN RUN RUN" with literally the entire dungeon trailing behind him.

Hah, that happens with me in D2 alot. :p

Titan Quest is really good, probably the only Diablo clones that I liked better then TQ were Champions of Norrath and the sequel for the PS2, because of the offline co-op, played through all difficulties with my brother. I played TQ through normal, and half way through Epic a while back, then after seeing Diablo 3, I decided to finish it again. Just ordered the expansion pack for it, I'll probably start over with a new character with the new masteries after I finish this character again.

edit: Awesome, Immortal Throne just arrived. :)

I like it a lot, I'm going to have to play it again soon. One thing I like a lot about it is that you can mix classes. Unfortunately, some classes simply aren't viable unless you're playing with other people.

Sounds like this'll be my next purchase.
Aside from crappy performance(probably got fixed by patches?), I liked what I played.

Should make a group for TQ, I mean if anyone would be up for a game any time this week.
I'll probably buy it tomorrow on Steam.

Well, it runs just fine for me. Even alt-tabbing out of the game goes without any hickups.

Gameplay-wise it's pretty cool so far. It's certainly not an open world, but I like how you get the choice to just follow the path, or stray of a bit and explore. Character-wise I've spent all my skillpoints in the earth tree. I wanna see if I can make a fire mage kinda toon. Where should I spent my attributes on most? So far I only used it on intel and mana (or whatever its called).

Nice loot too.

I had some kind of Fire-Necro thing going on. I liked that whatever retarded build I decided to make it actually helped out the group and I wasnt completely useless. Shit ton of things you can be in this game.

After reading up on it a bit, the multiplayer suffers from.... NO SERVER SIDE CHARACTER STORAGE?!?!?

**** that, probably fully of cheaters.

Eh I hardly ever played with strangers, most of the time it was with friends, but yeah if you dont know anyone who has it then that sucks.

The developer went bankrupt and called it quits.. so yeah.

Ah.

1. Kill shaman guy.
2. Talk to dude in town for reward.
3. You can now leave through the towns south entrance. Down from the merchant.

The game does have it's bugs.

I've been meaning to grab TQ off steam (I own a hard copy but want another copy for a friend) but that whole region locking thing is a pain in the arse. Meh probably go the ebay route.

Oh damn it, I just uninstalled the demo too.
But I'll be buying it shortly.

A copy off ebay will hit me for $30 (inc post) but that's better than putting up with paypals conversion rates or using my debit card. Fun.

Just started playing this recently to get me ready for Diablo 3. I must say it's been very enjoyable so far. I really wish one of my good friends had it also, it would be a blast to play co-op with. Made an assassin type character, part warrior part rogue.

I'm thinking about getting the expansion. Has anyone played it? If so how many hours of gameplay does it add on?

it was decently enjoyable as a singleplayer, but I bet it would be very fun if i had someone else to play it with.

So I have a lvl 33 Spellbreaker and am having a HARD time killing Typhon. Anyone with a strong character want to jump online and help??

I'd be more than willing to pick this game up on Steam if there was a we could group up together online and get some hl2.net madness going on. Are the servers still up despite the fact that the developer sank? I'm really itching for a mindless hack n' slash RPG and TQ is probably cheaper and more my pace than Sacred 2 or anything of that nature.

I'm effing pissed that the Hellgate devs shut down the little Diablo clone they were working on (ed. Mythos is what I was referring to), it was a bloody good bit of fun.

If you can't beat him the normal way... After you trigger him, run back just past the steps/entrance to his area, this will cause him to stop chasing and attacking you and turn around and walk back to where he spawned at. Just run to the top of the stairs to trigger him again, wait a second until he shoots at you, then click to the side to dodge, then shoot him a couple times as fast as you can before he is able to shoot back, just before he shoots get ready to click to the side to dodge again, etc. If you're not fast enough one time and he hits you, just run to the base of the stairs to get him to stop attacking and return to his spawn, so you can heal.

I ended up finally beating him--there is a spot against the railing in the middle of the steps right by the circle where you can stand and not get hit by most of his attacks. I just stood there and kept shooting arrows at him and when he called down the meteors I moved away and then back. It turned out to be longer than I thought, but much easier that way too. Man, if the Hades wasn't long and un-fun though. Ugh. What a slog.

Epic difficulty is AWESOME already though!!

Hamachi might work.

the game is definitely a lot of fun with friends.

rangers become pretty powerful once you get them high level enough.

What kind of sys reqs? I've been looking for a good RPG, but I have an older laptop that can run Civ 4 just fine, not sure how old this one is.

Bumpage.

I don't know how I never heard of this game before, but I just started playing and I love it. It's like, some of the best parts of Diablo 2, and Warcraft in a Hack N Slash. I'm a big fan.

I rolled an Assassin (Rogue / Warfare) which has been fun. I think I'm gonna go Druid ( Nature / Lightning) next. :)

Ahhh... Titan Quest...

A very fun & well made game. Great to play with friends or by yourself. The expansion, "Immortal Throne" is a lot of fun as well & worth getting. It adds a ton of new content for you to find/learn/use from the very start, though the actual new area itself is not unlocked until the very end of the original game.

Great game indeed, certainly makes the wait for Diablo 3 a lot more bearable.
