Hi guys, it?s soon a girl-friend?s birthday. I wanted to give her a present, so I decided to make a kind of collage with frames with pictures I took the other day (of her).
I decided to ?Photoshop? the pictures to get an original feel. This is the pictures that I?m working on:

This is what I have so far:

I was wondering if you guys could help me out with tips or anything, I would appreciate it a lot. I?m trying to get a black and white feel with some parts coloured. If any of you have any ideas feel free to propose them.

I?m would love to have one with just the eyes coloured, but I cant find any way to do it, tips ?

Example : http://www.flickr.com/photos/moodykell/332175008/

Cheers guys !

easy...

1)make a selection around the eye with the selection tool of your choice, if it's just the iris you want coloured the circular would make sense.

2)inverse the selection(ctrl + shift + i)

3) make an adjustment layer(button to the left of "create new layer" in the layer tab. choose hue/saturation and turn the saturation down to zero. done.

Looking good, maybe some adjustments needed :

I want to mendle with the rest of the picture, how can I do so the eye part won't move ?

merge it with the base layer (ctrl+e)
offtopic: prince of space where did you get your avatar from ? i remember reading a webcomic with that character in it.

Guys how can I improve the quality for printing ? I printed one of them and it wasn't really neat. What can I do for a better quality at printing ?

Cheers

there really isnt a lot you can do . you cant increase the resolution or anything like that. try fiddling with the contrast. post a pic of the final product if you need more help you're being kind of vague when you say "I printed one of them and it wasn't really neat."

wrong.(well depending)

dpi 300+ minimum

proper printer.
proper printer paper.
proper printer settings.

contrast/colour corrections etc etc.

but I can't really help with the specifics without the actual print in hand.

Im not sure what your problem is with printing but what ive done in the past is used glossy picture paper (which I think looks more professional as far as photos are concerned). Walgreens has a website where you can upload pictures and order them to be printed in whatever size you like and you can just pick them up from their store later. Idk if you have a walgreens near you though.. best of luck. Im sure she will love it.

I used those crappy machines 30 seconds to print at a super market. I'll go to a photography store for the final print.

I have 3 pics ready. Need 2 more. I'm looking for something original. Any ideas guys ?
