I've heard of this but can't find anything online about it.....I'm curious what that number is?

Call another phone that has Caller I.D.

Yeah, I know how to use a caller ID...but I was curious about that specific thing...hence the question that asks ABOUT that specific thing.

I remember doing this as a kid. Used to always call this number at Pizza Hut, hang up, and walk away. The service calls you back to check your line. It was lulzy.

Any of those aren't working. I'm working with a guy at work that MAY have his two separate Analog Lines together somewhere after the jack...or even wired the jack incorrectly. He has no cell phone, he can't dial long distance numbers *Can't call my cell* and nobody is around that has a cell. So, any of your answers work.

wired the jack incorrectly

I would be impressed, since all the ones that I have seen are color coded.

Back when I had dial-up, my line would drop constantly. Of course it worked perfectly when the technicians dropped by. Finally after about the third time, one of them decided to check the local substation. Turns out there was a loose ****ing wire. Just goes to show you, it might not be his fault.

I'd like you to know that I was only going to google this for a few minutes to see if I could help, but I ended up wasting close to an hour searching through websites that were far from helpful.

Friend, I don't think such a number exists anymore, at least not in the U.S.

Lois? Damn.
1111112.
Lois? Damn.
1111113.

Well, unless someone installed his PRI incorrectly......it could only be a select few things, hence the reason we were wanting to test it by checking the Caller ID....Kinda pointless for you to try and trouble shoot it for me :)

Hmm, that could work in essence. It really was just some phone number you called and it told you where you were calling from. That's kinda what's got me most curious.
