No, the more powerful party would attack him, in an effort to gain a seat and cast down a rival, thats how politics is (and if it means delay is punished, its not so bad, think clintons impeachement)

The GOP will boot him out if he is really bad, like Gingrich; unlike the democrats who take care of their own until it hurts their party, like Ted Kennedy.

The only reason there hasn't been anything done about Delay is becuase if the democrats let the Ethics comittiee go into session they would have to investigate their senator from Vermont I think it is? for they very same problems (paying his wife and daughter).

In the ethics commitee, I am almost positive, that members from both sides are equally represented. Six and six (or something along those lines), that way one party cannot dominate the other.

They wont protect him if the accusations are proven. It would cost the Republicans the majority in 2006.

I think they will protect him BEFORE the accusations are given a chance to be proven, but, like i said, only time will tell.
