Who else think the whole concept where you have to unlock certain features of a game is way out of hand?

I bought this pool game, to play some 8 ball on WindowsXp.

I'm really good at US 8 and 9 ball, but I've never played snooker. So I thought I would have to beat snooker to unlock something,
I finally managed to beat all the different modes, on normal skill level and nothin happend

but you start the game with this really ugly pool stick, really shity woodgrain pool table straight off the Atari 2600 era.

Well anyway the computer is an evil bastard, and will beat on you on the final game out of the tournament.

In the options it is obvious the stuff shown on the back of the box are locked but there is no clear way to unlock anything.
I bought the full version of the game

What I got to do? take pool lessons and be a real life professional pool shark in order to have a decent looking pool stick?
I got the cheap ass, low class bar special slightly bent stick

I think way to many games use this unlocking, by the time you unlock everything, you are bored of the game anyway.

Just give me the good pool stick and a decent looking pool table to play on, otherwise I don't want to play the game.

See what Im sayin?

i seem to agree.

argh. accidently voted for 2 things

I've played games that unlock nothing when you get through the game...but then again there are games that are too restrictive. A good mix of freedom and unlockables is always nice.

Fighting games - Yes
RPGs - Depends
FPS - No. Unless it was new weapons or a new campaign.
TPS - Yes

Ok did anyone else notice the google adds for pool tables up there?!

OK, I'm scared now..

The future is here, and it's like reading my mind. Intelligent spam!Thats ****ing smart :borg:

I hate unlocking. Very bad excuse for "replayability" most of the time.
