...is the best band ever, period.




All those "other" bands Nirvana etc...didn't even last.
Now look at these guys they have been here since 91,constantly changing but in a good way.

They're good, not the best, but good.
 
Yeah they are pretty swell, prefer some of APC's stuff sometimes though. Saying that however, I have and love every single tool album, don't think there's ever been a song I haven't liked by them.

Hahaha. Yeah, that'll do wonders for a band's longevity.

Tool are a really quality band. It's very obvious they put alot of thought and effort and love into what they do, but that said it's not for everyone. Because of the style they go with, it's way too easy to lump them in with every other metal/math metal/whatever band for someone who isn't into the genre. Althought that's sort of one of the things I love about them, is that it's so hard to define them - unless you're a naysayer, in which case you can easily just sum it up as "crap" :)

Meh. Not a hardcore fan of the band anyway. Just really dig em and enjoy their work. Anyway you go, it's impossible to define any one band as the 'best'... but I'm sure you already knew that.

Edit - Oh yeah, personally prefer APC aswell, simply cause they're more my style. It's funny that so often you hear how different the bands are despite sharing the same voice, but you can't help but draw comparisons and pick favourites between them for some reason.

Rolling stones are still around and they've been going since the 60s :laugh:
 
Tool = overrated. Pearl Jam going since 1991 and still make better music than they did back then.
 
Tool have some politically motivated lyrics too, but whatever. This thread will now submit to a cycle of'My band has been around longer and is better than your band'.

Pretty cool. Good live anyway. Not a band I listen to alot, but I don't object to them.

I really don't enjoy most of Tool's music, EXCEPT! their new album "10,000 Days" which I can't stop listening to.

But overall, I prefer APC. Beautiful deep lyrics filled with both hard and soft rock.

Although, Tool is a great band... comparing them to a band of a different genre is idiotic.
