Toooooooo many threads & spam

I know this is stating the blatantly obvious but it needs to be said:

General discussion has a new thread posted every 5 seconds and it's normally a load of shite

I can almost garantee that the only threads that stay on the front page for more than a day are the ones that are put there permantly, which is no good thing considering that:

1) If you reply to a thread then don't come back till the next day you proberbly will never know if anyone replied to your post.

2)Most of the threads arn't worth looking at nevermind replying to, but nevertheless get about 2 pages worth of replys that are nothing more than spam

3)In one day there are proberly 5-6 threads on the same topic, which is just stupid, I personally don't mind an old topic being re-disscused if it is just that an old dormant topic, not one that was discussed 3 hours earlier in a different thread.

4)Even threads that are worth seeing arn't viewed by the majority of HL2 visitors because they cba to see whats on pages 2-3 (me included)

5)Some of the threads should be in the hardware/mod/media forum, but only ever get there when the mods move them.

On the plus side there isn't much flameing (for a forum of this size) but the spam just keeps rolling in and the n00bs for that matter.

When the game is released this place needs to be shut down for a while otherwise it will never recover, oh and whoever said this is a tight knit community needs to be shot.

I enjoy reading a lot of the threads on here. If you don't think that the thread is worthy, then don't read it or follow it. This is "Off-Topic Chat", so if you take a minute and think about it then you might realize that people are going to be posting a whole lot of random thoughts on here. My opinion is that you need to go take your meds and chill for a bit. I may be a "n00b" to this board as you put it, but I've been on msg boards for long enough to realize people like you are the real problem. Learn to accept the fact the world, in fact, does not revolve around you and you'll be a much happier person in life.

After a great wave of people from somewhere by link, the MB will go into disarray. Spammers will begin to take over the main parts of the MB, most likely the General Forum. Then the General forum will be roped off by the mods and deemed inhabitable by anyone wanting to start a real discussion. Normal members entering the Genral Forum will either disappear or be stricken with a strange form of insanity babbling vulgarities, bludgeoning anything that breathes, and finally suffering an untimely death of full-body explosion. Matching heads with torsos to send home to the folks will become a full-time job. Like a virus the spammers and idiots will spread through out the forum. The Off-Topic forum will be the last place of refuge for the normal members. A great war will break out between the normal members and the spammers. Banning will be used, topic and post deletion will be everywhere, and the smell of what use to be will be stuck in the air. This is the prophecy of message boards.
