As the French say: Qu'est-que c'est le f*ck?

3. MMO games have an extraordinary potential that is being realised more and more, but the idea that single-player games could become obsolete or worthless is simply absurd.
Of course, MMO games can incorporate multiple, non-linear, interweaving narratives which interact with others' decisions within them. But they don't offer the huddled submersion that single-player narrative games can.
Also, too many people playing on-line games are offensively stupid, and that's not something that's going to go away any time soon. Who needs that interfering with the narrative you're trying to get lost in?

8. Quite how someone so famous and influential in the gaming industry can be quite so short-sighted is astonishing.

9. Y'know when you go off on one about how fantastic something is, only to realise a day or two later that actually you were way off the mark, and far too excitable? Yeah, by then it's too late.
Too bad, Hawkins.

Seriously!? There are so many morons out there on the internet. Maybe it's different in MMOs though. I dunno.

no, it's not different ...stupidly offensive people there too. The more popular a game the more stupid people ...therefore it's no surprise that I dont play CS:S and keep to myself in WoW

It probably isn't that bad. They get caught up in all the different fights between games and consoles and sometimes make regretable comments in the heat of the battle.

The CS:S community really isn't that bad, especially compared to a lot of others.

Some reason, I've found more morons and assholes in 1.6 then CS:S. Maybe its because all the "hardcore" CSers stayed with 1.6 and they're the dumb assholes?

Less people play CS:Source so therefore there's less room for assholes.

That is because more children play 1.6. And the reason for that is not everyone's daddy is going to buy an expensive PC that can run Source well. But 1.6 can run on anything. The source crowd is older because most of them built their own PC's.

hmmm I may give the trial a chance since I'm itching to play a fantasy game ..but come tuesday (oblivion day) all other games will be forgotten :)

lol. Being a huge id Software fan, I was going to post that but you beat me to it :p

I love Doom and Quake

I think the stories are fine though.

The whole "hell has broken loose on mars" is not terribly original, but its better than nothing.

Well I don't think Oblivion is a slow game. I don't like slow RPG's. But other than that right on. Sit in the dark alone and play RPG's! :) I think it's just an absurd thing to say from a Video game company like Nintendo. It's like an insult. I guess Mario RPG came after he realized that depressed people who like to sit alone in their dark rooms and play slow games are more common than he thought? and have money too?
