I agree with some of the points ...mainly mouse + keyboard ftw :)

all this negative backlash against pcs is usually mounted by console snobs so whateveh! gamespy ..you havent been important to the pc scene for years now so your opinion doesnt count ;) :P

but in all seriousness pc backlash wil start to subside in a year or two ..probably around the time pc graphics are leaps and bounds ahead of consoles ..or WoW2 is shipped (I find it funny that console snobs such as the guys at 1up, especially loudmouth Luke Smith are eager to bash pc gaming yet are addicted to WoW ..hypocritical gamers? that's unpossible!) ..it's a cycle that's true for every console generation

disclaimer: most of my comments are tongue in cheek, so try not to overreact

Hahaha, I'm a PC snob, but then again, quakeworld was my first online experience with a game, so I'm biased for that.

I clicked this thread title, then I cba to click your link, does that make me a console snob or a PC snob..?
Besides, joypads > keyboards when it comes to platformers and puzzle games, have you played Mario64?:>

"Console gamers are responsible for the decline of some of the PCs best franchises. For example, the original Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six titles were fantastic and realistic, but now they've been compromised as the games cater more to console gamers "

Atleast they said SOMETHING truthful

I wouldn't consider myself a PC-snob, I can see situations where a PC is better or a console is better, for instance, I have many friends that would rather spend $400 on a 360 instead of dropping over $1000 on a PC (Don't give me that "LOL BUILD IT URSELF IT'S CHEAPER" shit, it's still quite expensive)

on a pc? how many platfomers are there on pc? that's like saying keyboard and mice is a better control system when it comes to MMO's

It'll stop when we start getting more than 2 or 3 pc games a year worth playing ;)

Good link btw - I know at least 4 guys who'd agree with each of those points word for word. pc snobs ftw :)

agreed ..I hate this idiotic graphics over gameplay sentiment that seems to taken over gaming

wow I didnt think anyone would agree with every point ..some of the points are purposely silly

Which ones? you could find each of these points mentioned on this very forum if you could be bothered to trawl though enough posts. I think gamespy missed the mark a little with Peter Molyneux - he's no longer the pc gaming love child he was in the good old days.

well the realism one for starters ..seems self evident that "more realistic" does not equal "realistic" ..but I was more commenting in the way the article was presented ..it's not exactly being all that kind to pc gamers; it was more of a backlash against snobbery (which they be default are guilty of simply by writing the articel) which I thought was obvious and no pc gamer would agree to in the manner they presented ..most of it is condescending

I guess - just a bit of fun really. I remember poking fun at the other side back in the days of spectrum vs amstrad, amiga vs atari vs pc, snes vs megadrive ....

ya but I find gamers to be too partisan (for lack of a better word) ..we should be gamers not supporters of platform x

Most of those I would agree with. Although, I still think Goldeneye was one of the best games ever made. IE: Facility with cheats

Let these words be passed down for they speak the absolute truth.

The point of this article is kind of lost on me. Most of what they've got in there is blatantly true, then they just add some snide comment on the end as though defending that point is automatically going to make you as snobbish as they're making it out.

I agree with most of those, but I'm an avid console player aswell. What does that tell you?

Consoles get more great games now?

Duh, of course they do :P

That you're a pc snob who slums it with us console noobs once and a while.

It's just not expected from someone Down Under - clubbing a kangaroo to stick on the barbie, now that's more like it :)

Now that's subtle!

Also, I'd be content with being just a PC and console noob, I'm not overly attached to either at the moment. TBH pretty much alls I play on here is WoW and a bit of CoD, and my 360 is currently collecting dust waiting for the next good release.

I wuv my PC and I wuv my gamecube, all others fail.

That is until Smash Bros. Brawl comes out, then the Wii will not fail.

ROFL LOL @ CONSOLE NUBS LOL SAUCE

I definitely agree with the point that all the Star Wars console games don't come close to the awesomeness that was Tie Fighter vs X Wing. But then i'd replace those games with Freespace 2 as the best flying/space shooter ever.

Meh. New ideas have only ever been tested on PCs.
Consoles are for tried and tested gaming formulae. :x
