Top 20 things to do while waiting for Doom 3

Wow, that is a genral list of stuff that is supposed to be funny but I cannot tell you how much prozac I would need to even develop a chuckle from that.

Be sure to get your whole head infront of the shotgun, thanks for calling!
(btw, I know I stole that from Denis Leary)

I thought it was pretty funny. :D
All hail the Kasivan.

Seriously, I don't even think he wanted to make it sound funny. Unless you think someone telling you to "go play Doom 95" is a joke?

Its half humorous, half suggestions. As is most of Gamespotting.

I think he means the guy who wrote the very funny article

Let me just say that I like Gamespot alot, Kasavin is actually my fav editor there, but the man has a dislike for Doom3. And I don't just mean the condescending attitude in this article either, for those of us who subscribe to Gamespot Complete and watched the live E3 streams as they happened in May, they may remember Greg digging into Doom3 on multiple occasions, not to mention all the jabs given to the game elsewhere.

Not like it really matters I guess, it's just another person's opinion on a game, but it's kind of odd to do. I can guarantee you, if he reviews Doom3, it will be get a score in the 7 to 8range.

Which isn't necessarily bad as Greg usually is the most reliable reviewer there imo, I just have a feeling he will be going into that game and review with the mindset that he already doesn't like it much.

Only #1 is somewhat funny.

Go on message boards and complain.
Everyone's doing it.

He's the executive editor, so that's why he's most trusted.

Actually, I've seen he's pissed at many unreleased game (HL2, Doom3, e.t.c) and you can't blame him for that. Most people (including me) want proper release dates not "When it's done" or "this summer" crap. Although, now I've changed my opinion - Doom 3 looks much better after the delays than it did 2 years back.

he wasn't pissed at the game directly just the date, "when it's done" is just the worst thing to do to someone wanting the game very badly, which kasavin is obviously a prime example of.

Obviously, we all love HL2 and Doom 3 but are pissed off at the delays. :P

That's true, the delays are annoying, but isn't "When it's done" better than giving a concrete date and blowing it?

Also the comment in the top 20 list about how hopefully with Doom3 id learned about making a good SP campaign is just bullshit, especially when he turns around and praises Painkiller which is pretty much exactly like the Doom SP. Then again, maybe that part was in jest. I sure hope so because that doesn't seem like something he'd normally say. That's the kind of comment you'd expect from a misinformed anti-Doom fanboy.

Like I was saying though, when it comes to pretty much anything else gaming-related that isn't Doom, I respect his opinions and usually look to his reviews over others. He tells it like it is usually.
