In Top Gear?s most ambitious and arduous challenge to date Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond attempt to race from Northern Canada to the North Pole, 450 miles away. The terrain in between is some of the toughest on earth - a mix of mountainous land masses and jagged sea ice where temperatures can drop to a mind-numbing minus 65 degrees Celcius (minus 85 degrees Fahrenheit). Jeremy and James will be driving a specially adapted pick up truck whilst Richard will be travelling on something a little less high tech - a sled pulled by a team of ten Canadian Inuit Dogs.

WOOT!l!

Winnerpedia. I LOVE it when they do races.

Yay! Another race! :D

Good old TG. Hamster on a sled with huskies though? That could be..... interesting.

Exactly! :D I love Top Gear when it's 'normal', but the tour of America... that was something special, that was.

One of the best 1 hour shows I have ever seen, that USA special. TV to perfection :D

sweet!

the american road trip was some of the funnies tv I've ever seen :D

That was bloody brilliant. Quite graphic, too.

Brilliant! I have a feeling the Beeb will lots of complaints from snooty nothing better to do gits (The gin behind the wheel, the baby seal remains etc.), but I thought it was great.

Top marks to the person who can name all of the snippets of movie music they used! :D

(Because I'd like to know)

Get on www.finalgear.com - they have a section solely for the music in the top gear episodes (every single one).
They also have torrents, and I assume it's legal as the producers from Top Gear are regulars on their forums.

That was brilliant. You could tell they were getting pretty tired when the car kept getting stuck in the icy boulder areas.

The snooty ****ers can indeed go **** themselves. Drink driving laws do not funnily enough apply to the north pole. What are they gonna run into? A polar bear? Besides, they can't prove it wasn't just water.

As for the seal remains, blame the bears, not the BBC :P

Was a top show, as always. Top gear is worth the licence fee all on its own. Should really be run more often.

lol was pretty epic I must say. First peoeple to reach the pole in a car? Not bad for unfit, middle aged, tv presenters. Would have to be crazy to attempt what they did though, but I would definately go for it if the opportunity arise, once in a life time opportunity what they did.

Bring on the next top gear series!

First time I ever properly sat down and watched Top Gear (not a car man personally) and it was a pretty damn good watch. Clarkson's constant furious comments were a good laugh :D

Very interesting though, those fields of ice boulders astounded me.

i don't want to read any more, do we have links to the episode?

Go here for some really high-res images of the polar expedition (The first road trip to the north pole). Some great desktop material in there :D
