Recently my clan played a match in a BF2 infantry ladder (no vehicles, mines, c4, claymores, commanders). Unfortunately we lost to a clan that is doing very well in that ladder, winning matches thanks to their specific gamestyle. I selected a few scenes from one round of the match, to show you how that gamestyle looked like. I think it's worth a watch especially if you're a BF2 player.

Nice video, very pleasant especially with that particular song :) Seems to be some pretty skilled players there, with alot of prone/crouch/standing/jump's over and over. I find the problem with those games is that everyone is medic to heal themselves (which happens often), but its very much so fun to play without all the vehicles/bombings/artillery etc.

This is why I don't like the "top" players of any FPS... the only way to win is if you move like a complete moron. (No offence unfoc).

looks so goofy seeing people float prone all over the place

I agree SixThree. Its almost unfair to a point, but they are very skilled at that so props to them.

Well it's prominent in every high-level gaming that people will do and (ab)use whatever they can to their advantage. It's this style of cutthroat gaming that pushes me away from joining clans and such.

Exactly. Every 'quake' style game played at the pro level consists of the player practically flying around the map. Looks like they never touch the ground.

None taken. Those moves were performed by the clan we were figting against, not us. The video shows how they were playing.

I completely agree with you. My clan wasn't using these "tactics" and was rather annoyed with them. If that's how being a top clan looks like, then I don't want to be in one. If my clan stays at the top of the ladder, we will do so without resorting to those. We won't try to "outexploit" anyone.

I hoped everyone would catch the sarcasm in the "Good Game ..." at the end combined with the funky music.

And huntingbear: it's more like exploiting the game. I have a feeling hitboxes are all over the place while someone does it. I nearly emptied a whole clip shooting and a ground-humper at point blank range and couldn't kill him.

Props to them for being very skilled at something nearly unfair as you said? Not much logic in that IMHO. Well, everyone judges by his own standards, some will find them skilled, some will find what they're doing shameful. My first post was neutral, didn't want anyone's comment biased.

EDIT: Did I mention it looks retarded and I don't feel as if I was playing a game with a war theme?

You guys played very well looking at that video.

But it looked like the guys you were playing against were CS kiddies that migrated over to BF2. x.x

great vid unfocused, the music is a great choice :D

man that must have been pretty annoying for you guys, they are skilled at their chosen tactic but it looks ridiculous and is quite exploitative, like others said who'd want to play in a ladder against these type of guys, i like the idea though, no vehicles, arty, commander, interesting...

QFT!

I've never understood why people seem to think that exploits are a part of the game that should be used to their advantage. Play the game like it was meant to be played; not like a jackass! It reminds me of people skywalking in dust's 1.6 version.

Theres alot of skill in it still.
I've started playing op4 with comrade badger, and some of the bunnyhoping and guass jumping he can do is insane, he's quite hard to hit, but it's a skill, and it really makes the game decent.

I don't like the whole prone exploiting with bf2 though, it's on fitting in a deathmatch game imo.

Yeah...hehe...those bastards I hated when they did that...lol...*runs off*

The only time I did it was when the teams were stacked out of this world. Our whole team didn't have 1 player with a positive KD ratio.

Being crap doesn't make cheating acceptable.

Right you are! Let's rule with an iron fist on some random pub that nobody gives a f*ck about and isn't VAC secured! :D

Good to see ya posted this Unfocused, it is a frankly crap way of playing the game, but if that is how they do it, then meh

Infantry combat is really the way forward for BF2 i feel, offers a much more gritty down to earth experiance...unless you have those guys macro'ing and exploiting D:
