Total conversion Based on Dark Tower Series

Ill prolly be laughed off the boards for this, but I am a huge fan of the DarK Tower, by Stephen King. Seeing that the last story in the series is coming out on the 21st and HL2 wont be out for a while, i thought id start drawing and writing. Now comes my main problem and the reason ill be laughed off the forum. I know nothing of modding, from maps to models to textures. nothing.

hehe. No but seriously, you prolly can't make that mod even if you were some modding prodigy. Stephen King will bitch slap you with a fat copyright if you go through with this.


EDIT: Oh and are you asking for people to join you? Or do you just want help learning something about modding?

I'm gonna entirely avoid the copyright issue's this time round, as its a mute point. If you know nothing about mod making this mod will fail. Instead, go learn as much as you can, and do smaller simpler mods, start with the basic things first and go through until your completely confident you can do something bigger. Then come up with an original idea, put it all together, then sort out a team.

thanks for the advice. i was hoping somehow, if done, to do it episodically, working on the first book, on up to the seventh book. when the first is complete, send it to king himslef and ask him what he thinks and for approval, etc... he's usually pretty decent to his fans, especially his DT fans (www.thedarktowercompendium.com for example of how generous he really is). i fyou know a site to help with me learn how to mod, hook it up. id appreciate it a bunch.
