Train car has no people or chairs-help pls

Just installed Half Life 2 and when it starts the train car has no chairs people etc.
I am running GeForce NVidia 6800 GT
2.00 GHz 1.00 GB of Ram
Audigy 2 ZS
AMD 64 Athlon 3000+ processer
LG Disc player Super Multi RW

Is it my BIOs settings. Pls help

Still not fixed

Tried Chris D.s suggestion but still no objects in game.
Can walk through empty rooms bumping into things but cant see them.
Lately loaded Win xp pro and problem started. Game ran fine before that.
Same with far cry. I see the dude during pre start but everything around black when game starts with a few spears of light.
Updating all drivers ie NVidia, amd etc but no change so far.
Do I need to reinstall games after updating drivers?

No, you don't have to reinstall your games after updating drivers. But I heard that the newest nVidia drivers gave problems with HL2...
