A test render of a 358 poly tree (vehicle used as reference object). The lighting isn't right & it's not to scale, but I assume the modelers here can already see that.

This tree has to look good from many angles. I also have a low-res version with 108 polygons.

Time to make 5-15 more trees like this then start researching my next style of plants.

Its quite good, although I would say that if you want a forrest, it far to detailed. Depends on what you want to use it for.

There will be 10-40 trees of this style spread throughout a sizable map (for a specific reason). The dynamic load will allow for a 108 poly replacement at distance, and probably a 10-20 poly replacement at extreme distance.

The vast majority of plants & trees will be 6-30 polygons each.

10-40 is hardly a forrest :)
But what matters is how many is in view. Shouldnt be a problem anyway.

Nice job. I love the texture on the leaves. You modify it to fit your needs, or was it like that when you got it, or did you just make it from scratch? I want some of those :).

edit: where is the door handle ;)

Thanks for the replies. 10-40 is the number of trees that are this style. Total, there will be around 100-200 trees, and 250-800 small plants. The forest sections are only parts of the map.

From scratch using special techniques.
I want some of those
I'm always open to the possibility of a trade, but I really don't know what I need. Most of the time an object wouldn't take me very long anyway, so I'd rather say I build everything in a scene.
EDIT: Which MOD are you doing? (link?)

where is the door handle
That car isn't done. If you want to see completed cars, go to www.GryphonAuto.com

either a tiny tree or a big ass car
...and as I said in the original post, it's not to scale. The car is tiny & the tree needs to be 2x-3x larger.

looks very nice
Thanks dude :)

I think those will look pretty cool in game, good work
