Trial Of Saddam Hussein Begins

I mean he only killed all those people for inciting sociodisorder....

Trial Of Saddam Hussein Begins

...in another month or so. I am so sick of this garbage. An adjournment until Nov. 28? Ugh. Let's just get it over with and move on. Still, OJ and MJ were found innocent, so stranger things have happened in the world of the law(though I have no idea what sort of court they have for him over there, but if I were him, I would be very very contrite).

Should be an interesting trial...if it ever happens :hmph:.

I dont have confidence that saddam will get a fair trial in the sense that not all of his victems will have their day in court...he should be tried in an international court because there are other groups who have legitimate charges against saddam ..specifically war crimes and the use of WMD ..but of course that wont happen because details of the west's involvement might see the light of day ....and they cant have that happening

why spend all the money on court trials?.... just shoot him

That would really put a downer on the fact Sadaam was wanted for performing these acts.

But indeed, they will f**k around in court until sometime in 2006. Especially with this adjournment.

such a simpleton ...so the families of the victem dont have a right to face the accused?

This whole trial is a farce. Yes Saddam is guilty of crimes against humanity (in my oppinion). Will he get a fair trial? Absolutley not. All he's going to be part of is a puppet show to apease the masses. Why they don't shout "dead man walking" as he enters and exits the court is beyond me because basically that's all he is.

what i hate is the whole fact that we have proof of what hes been doing etc etc, and how hes been left due to 'human rights' and has the right of a fair trial...pfft like its going to make a difference anyway! not as if they might say 'oh, sorry mate our bad, youre a good boy. you can leave now, lollypops on the left as you leave...'

fry mother ****er, fry.

We also have 'proof' that America has commited crimes against humanity in the past and yet nothing has been done about these.

Generally people believe what they're told and everyone is told that the West is "right / good" and the middle east is "wrong / bad" and without even using their own brains they believe it.

America had knowledge about what Saddam was up to long before they disclosed it and they did nothing about it. While Saddam was in power oil was cheap (oil for food program.. ha!). Imagine if it was a truly free country.. how much would oil cost then?

/me applauds the puppet govt. in power in Iraaak

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highway_of_Death

According to a PBS Frontline interview with Rick Atkinson, when asked whether we know how many Iraqis were killed on the Highway of Death, he answered: "I don't think we'll ever know how many Iraqis were killed there. There were about 1500 vehicles on the highway of death, counted, destroyed vehicles after the war. And another 400 or so on another road, a spur that ran parallel to the coast.

The guild also lies on the British for setting it up and the Americans for helping him out.

dont forget Halabja

"Some debate continues, however, over the question of whether Iraq was really the responsible party, perhaps stemming from well supported claims that the United States supplied chemical weapons to Iraq. The matter is further complicated by the fact that the U.S. State Department, in the immediate aftermath of the incident, instructed its diplomats to say that Iran was partly to blame. According to an article published in the International Herald Tribune by human rights researcher Joost Hiltermann the US intentionally tried to shift the blame for the gassing of Halabja off of Saddam, and declassified State Department document demonstrate that US diplomats received instructions to press this line with United States allies. The United States Department of State, often referred to as the State Department, is the Cabinet-level foreign affairs agency of the United States government, equivalent to foreign ministries in other countries. ... "

and the intentional destruction of the Iraqi Water Treatment Plants that led to this:

Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it.

Not Iraq related, but this is another interesting document related to the American view on 'Democracy':

I think the point is it's quite easy to paint govornments as the enemy depending on your point of view.

chile, honduras, el salvador, niceragua, panama, guatemala, the congo, iran, haiti etc etc etc ..the list is pretty long
