it has been said several times that the three episodes make up what is half-life 3
Trilogy = 3 ---- Half Life 2 + EP1 + EP2 + EP3 = 4
Right?
So stop calling it a trilogy.
Didn't I make thread like this a couple of months ago?
Ep3 is the end of Gordon's saga, not the end of HL.
No. The end of the current Story Arc. He'll probably just get stuck in more stasis or shit.
People honestly, Valve has already confirmed that the Episodes make up HL3. So stop saying too bad it isn't HL3 or I can't wait for HL3 because you are already in the middle of it.

You shouldn't have said that. It's not something to be proud of
No they have not.
If they were Half-Life 3, it would show in the name. The episodes are a continuation of HL2.
Well this thread I made can help some people get this clear, which it obviously isnt since it created such a discussion.
Truth, hence thread correctly addresses a inaccurate statement that no one has actually made.I dont remember ever hearing 'The HL2 trilogy' only the 'HL2 Episodic Trilogy', which doesnt include HL2
Yeah, well I AM Gearbox Software, and I say that Adrian Shepherd is going to be added into all previously released Half-Life games as a small Albanian village bent on world domination.I know this because I work at Valve.
If anyone says a trilogy, they're reffering to the episodic sequels that came after Half-Life 2
Some referred to half life 1, half life 2, and eps as the trilogy.
Yes, thats the way I look at it.Some referred to half life 1, half life 2, and eps as the trilogy.
I used to look at the Episodes in that way to until I found out in a video interview with Valve's Jess Cliffe where he implies that the Episodes put togther are meant to function as the thrid installment of the series.I've always seen the Episodes as an expansion. Not so much a sequel, and not an add-on...
Simply like a continuation of the story.

So it is basicly is a trillogy.
