Trouble with CS 1.6. Please Help!

Hi,

I am currently running steam with hl2, but I cannot install cs 1.6. i have been able to run cs source and half life 2, but it says that i have to buy cs 1.6 in order to play. Now, according to what ive heard, that is clearly not the case, and yet, I've not been able to install it. Could someone please advise me on this matter? i tried installing both regular steam and steam cs 1.6, but none of those proved to be of use. Thanks in advance.

You need Half-life 1 to play Counter-strike.

You only get the old Half-Life games if you get the Steam Packs which have the "VALVe Back Catalouge".

so what if i wanted to play counter strike 1.6? would i have to buy the original half life? how would i go about that process given my current situation?

buy halflife do you not get that???? you can buy it off of steam or go buy it at your local computer store

NO DONT BUY HALF LIFE. you doint get it with half life anymore they changed the packages about a year ago.

buy the original halflife in your local game shop and you will be able to play it, cs1.6 and all the other great mods and expansions that come with it

If I recall correctly, you get two different CD keys with that one (HL and Blue Shift). Each one is good for one Steam account
