trusting government with your money is a very risky deal

there were some calculations about how much would you save for your pension if you saved trough private means and not trough gov means..

the calculation would show that you'd save 30% more than trough socialized pension. that means 30% of your money goes into a black hole. and don't dare say 30% is little. as i understand it this was calculated trough safe and stable investments not by some highly unstable means.

i want taxes that have locked and fully transparent funds, but i don't know a single government that would give their citizens such insight.
therefore the logical conclusion is not to give money to the government, but yes...it doesn't just simply work that way.

so i'm asking for solutions?
full transparency and locked funds would help alot, but like i've said...no government wants that.

i'd really like more a government that wouldn't tax you for everything and then wiping their ass with your money. where's the point of paying for their luxury transport vehicles, protection,... it's not like politicians are an endangered species.
i just can't believe how much money is wasted.

oh and yes...we even have a tax on inheritance. also a tax on real estate and belongings is in the works. that means if you don't pay your tax for the real estate you legally and fully paid you get sued and eventually your owner right are taken away.
i bet 60% of taxes are borderline extortion.

socialism only works to a small extent, don't push it.

And the countless companies dropping pension on 20 year employees is just... bad luck?

the moral of the story...you have to invest your money carefully and be on constant alert if it gets endangered. and besides, the gov does the same, the average pension fell dramatically trough the generations.
placing your money somewhere and expect it to be there untouched for a very very long time, doesn't sound too safe.

my idea...invest in gold, real estate, apartments,...

in 40 years there's no telling what change in the government might happen.

and the least they could do is lock the fund so it doesn't get drained like it does today.

I don't truth my government with my money at all. I will never invest in anything the government has. The U.S gov leaks money like a sieve, they have been using the social security fund like a piggy bank, and have been promoting useless stimulus bills that bailed out irresponsible companies that if their was any justice in the world would have gone under.

I don't want a Government retirement fund, I don't want medicare when I'm 60.... but I guess I will get what I want... the way things are going now by the time I am eligible for benefits the funds will be gone.

I would go as far to say that socialist policies are only useful for short term, focused, surgical implementation..... not sweeping, all encompassing, mandatory reform.

I want to know how my money is being spent. I want politicians to give financial reports in front of a metaphorical firing squad... If they lie or admit to wasting our money then we the people should FIRE their asses.

^this

although i have yet to find a politician to admit he wasted taxpayers money, most just blame others for their **** ups. if they want to play cum swapping they can do it with their own, not mine.

seriously...in a utopia they would efficiently use up our money but in RL the only way to deal with this is to give less of it to them.
government IMO is here primarily to help regulate laws not take money and waste it on bullshit causes.
anyone explain to me why should there be a tax on cigarettes or stuff like that, why can't it be just prohibited to smoke on public places? obviously a money stealing scheme. same goes for the 60% of taxes.
or the fact that there was a study in england that showed road surveillance has no effect on decreasing accidents...and yet they still do it.
population control all comes down to money...the less you have it the less you have influence and thus are more powerless and dependent.

let's be clear...i'm not against an organized government, i'm against a money gobbling government.

btw...the average pension here by us, fell 30-40% in the last 20 years and people pay the same amount if not more.

I think governments are awesome. That is all.

They find more ways to tax you so they can afford to keep services running...bahaha, so I used to think. How naive.

Everyone hates tax of course, its like daylight robbery, but I realise that if I break a leg, get into hospital, dont have to pay anything for care and the government pays me money to be out of work while I heal, I can see why tax is a good thing.

Tax IMO = government income therefore ways of keeping a country running. Without tax, we'd have ***k all because nobody is going to willingly give up their money to keep the generators and water running, let alone pay for infrastructure etc.

Its two sides of the coin.

if it would be like 85% efficient i wouldn't mind but the way it is now i'm thinking wouldn't it be better to fend for myself.

i'm mostly talking for my specific situation in my country.
our medical service has been falling for the last 20 year...they're in a huge deficit and all of the past and present leaders didn't do much to help it. that's because anyone rich enough uses private means for medical services and they don't stand in line like the rest of us.

where there are huge amounts of money...corruption is right there behind it. probably goes for most countries from developed to third world ones.

answer me this...to what extent do we tolerate government wasting? where i live we're not getting our moneys worth.
especially when you have to wait in line 5 hour for 5 stitches.

how's at your place are you content?
