Turning CD check back on?

Is there anyway to actually re-enable the CD check? I ask because it would seem that since that update, I can't use AA without my framerates dropping to about 6, as opposed to 50-100 before the patch. ;(

Strange. Some people have been reporting less stutter & sustained frame rates since the update even though it apparently didn't address the problem at all!

i tryed 2 run hl2 2day and it said that memory error and my screen was upside dwon i ahd 2 use system restoree 2 get it upside up
