Turning Point: Fall of Liberty! Another hiding game by the SAME COMPANY!

Is this how the WW2 genre is progressing, by taking the "what if" approach?

I suppose I prefer it to the endless iterations of the D-Day landings.

Very cool idea.

Whats with Codemasters doing all of these FPS's? I guess voting for what type of games you like at Codemasters.com has merits.

Probably going to get buried under Crysis though.

and once again a ww2 shooter posits the idea that without america we'd all be speaking german ..bravo, way to make the rest of the world's sacrifices meaningless ..**** you Codemasters

that said, this game looks really cool, although more so as a scripted rollercoaster ride than anything else

Mentioned this on the forums when i first heard about it. Still interested, keeping my eyes on it :O

Well it wouldn't make for much of a game if things had turned out fine now would it?

Doesn't even make sense, the Russians had Germany beat even without American help.

Well actually, the Soviet war effort was heavily dependent upon trains for transport of materials and whatnot. However, virtually thier whole industry was devoted to making new war material (tanks, planes, rifles, whatever) and they only produced around 90 locomotives during the whole of WWII. The Americans gave them over 1900 along with something like 370,000 trucks. Without that added transport capability the Soviets would have been crippled.

I meant military help rather than economic aid which had America had been giving to Britain etc. even before they entered the war.
Positing no attack on Pearl Harbour and no American entry to the war they would presumably continued to give economic help.

Besides part of the reason the Soviets didn't make trains is because they were being supplied with them whereas tanks they had to make themselves.

It doesn't matter, it's supposed to be about fighting Nazis in America. What the hell kind of alternate history game has America not entering the war, then the Russians winning it, and everything is hunky dory and peaceful?

One about an Alternate Cold War? Or just one which makes sense?

did I tell you that rollercoaster rides make me queasy? ;)

Except a non sci-fi version? Without psychics or time travel.

This seems to make use of NaziTech!, all the batshit insane ideas German scientists were coming up with, and would have probably fielded if the war had been able to last to '46 or '47. In the trailer I saw those German fighters, I forget what they're called, but the jet wing dealies, they look like silver bats, along with the giant airships (which I've always been a fan, regardless of whatever movie they appear in.)

Although it was cool, I wonder what genius in the Wehrmacht decided to launch a massive airborne invasion in broad daylight on the largest city in America.

I also kind of laughed when the guy looked over the wall and saw the massive German air/sea force strolling in unopposed. Egad, where did they come from? Shouldn't someone have noticed it just a tad earlier? Maybe the Coast Guard was infiltrated by German spies and didn't send a warning.

Haha, like the "24" episode of South Park :)
