How to add water into your map

WARNING: Do not make it a func_water

1. Create a normal square brush, and apply the texture 'dev_water2' to it.

2. Create the entity 'water_lod_control' and stick it somewhere in your map.

3. Compile it.

Except that you're applying the water material to all ix faces of the brush, which the manual seems to indicate will cause performance issues. Also, is there even a "dev_water2" material, or was that something to do with the stolen build? I just search for "water" and there are a few to choose from; it needn't be any one specifc water material, AFAIK.
