TV as monitor?

if i buy a new plasma or LCD tv is it possible to hook my computer up to it and use it as my momitor? If so whats the input called that alows this?

Why plasma? Those sorta still have a limited lifetime to them.

Anyway, S-Video is the most common connection between a PC and TVs although if you have a DVI port that would be best.
S-Video won't make it as sharp as it is on your Monitor.
