The focus of the article is that companys need a TV License if its employees are watching bbc online, but it does miss the bigger picture.

A TV License is a permission to own and operate equipment capable of receiving and decoding an RF TV signal. The 2003 telecom act changed this to cover satalite and cable, however, it is again missing the point. The TV license is used to fund the BBC, fair one, however, it is charged for people owning a TV. A computer is not a TV, even if you are streaming live from the net.

Anyway, discuss, I'm off to find some civil servants to burn.

Another case of overwhelmingly stupid bureaucracy in action "You can't do this without the proper document...you can't do that...blah blah" Soon enough we'll need a license to respire for fear of putting CO2 into the atmosphere.

Unlikely.
The BBC is the best news organisation in the world, it needs funding.

Well as the BBC has episodes of their programs online to watch anyway, I don't think they expect (or even care) if you have a liscence or not.

I doubt they could do anything either way.
