I assume you are talking about prime-time and otherwise "entertainment" or "news" television? Fug it - television is the opiate of the masses. I've been sans television for a bit over 10 years now, and it's agonizing to see it now. I do enjoy some educational shows however, but I gather that's not what you think of when you think of television by your "propaganda machine" comment.
