On a cautionary note, please do not use a no-cd crack unless you'd like your steam account banned. VALVe bans accounts for those as well. No matter if you own the game legally or not.

I don't think it gives much of a performance boost if any, some say it does but I havn't really experimented enough to say, I was speaking more in terms of the no-cd fix, if you play in offline mode steam has no way of knowing and therefore you are safe.
Offline mode??? How do you play in offline mode???
Is it an actual option that Steam/Valve gives you in the game options or is it just a matter of unplugging your net connection?
