Be amazed at what I don't know

1. In HL2, are ground nodes just for single player? I assumed they are just for the computer characters to run around using. The SDK example has ground nodes everywhere, but I noticed other entities they didn't bother to delete from the SP map too.

2. How do you create fog in your level so it matches up with fog in the 3D skybox? I tried a separate fog controller in the skybox with a sixteenth the distances, but I just got super thick fog in my level with none in the skybox.

1) Info_nodes are purely for AI, when a map is loaded for the first time, a node graph is created with these nodes for AI to navigate.

2) I'm pretty sure you can control this with the skybox camera entity.
 
Thanks. But AI is unnecssary for HLDM, right? I haven't seen any options for putting bots in the level, but it might be a future feature or something.
 
perhaps making a seperate brush with the fog tool texture on it
im not sure, cuz i havent used fog much, yes and i believe that ground nodes are only for singleplayer ground based npcs
