whats the main reason ya'll are gonna play HL2?
And how are you going to pay for a good comp (if u dont have one) and half life2?

main reason i play is the story..good damn story, should be a movie. and all the pretty scenery....

i make 8 bucks an hour at mcdonalds! YEA...gonna get enough money for a computer and Half life2! w00t..oh yea my license a car and taking my gf out to dinner/movies has to be juggled in there somewhere....cant forget the pretty girly....

comp was graduation gift a year or so a go...hl2 paid for by me...and i see my gf enough during class =p

DAMN your lucky, between me working and her school i see her like once every week if im lucky...man i miss her!

hehe jk...

anyway, i want to play hl2 because i've been waiting for it for so long, and i got a decent comp that'll run hl2

nice, my dads got a nice computer, i kinda want my own..looks like my money is gonna be tight..so i might just buy another 128meg stick for it......

1) Half-Life 1 = Best game ever
2) Credit! w00t! (got a 9800 pro months ago)

im playing half life 2 because ive never had moments in my gaming life as i spent with my cousin beating hl1 on hard the first time i played it. We stayed up for like 2 days straight. Taking turns lol, the way it was designed man back than there was nothing like it. And now it's finally that time again. Half life left me jaded torwards fps's games for years after it released. It took a little over 2 1/2 almost 3 years for a title to come out that i actually played through from beggining to end. Because everything else just felt like crap. Not to mention when opposing forces came out and the scripted enviornment design was on par with half life itself.

As for affording a pc, heh i built it myself, completly custom including the case. And I wqork for a living so i just bought the parts individually gradually over time to prepare. Once doom 3 was scheduled to release and i saw the benchies from the cards i picked the one that ran it the best 6800 gt =). This way i get all the future d3 based games will play fairly well, at the same time good performance in hl2.

1. hl1 was great. too much hype surrounding hl2 not to want it badly, the awesome reviews are even hyping it more for me.

2. already had a pretty good comp before, but since i got a 5-digit inheritance check recently, i splurged on a new x800xt & mitsubishi 930sb 19" crt(1600x1200@85hz) so i could experience hl2 at 1600x1200, full detail.

1. I spend very little money on games and I only buy the best. HL1 was the best. From the moment it was revealed at E3 in 2003, I could see HL2 would be something special. Why? Valve's focus on expressive characters and game-world immersion. How many FPS games can have you wander around with NO GUN for long periods at the start of a game and have you enjoy it?

2. The normal way: a job.

I think were looking at it the wrong way. The question should be why you wouldnt play halflife 2! I saw PC Gamer's review of it today and i nearly wetted my pants with joy when i read what they thought of it. And im ready for it too, i built a sweet comp with my graduation money and it should run it like hell!

I want one.

Good questions? You are without any doubt the fatest thing I have ever seen, and I've been to safari. ;)

Sometimes the story makes the difference. Look at FarCry...If it had a movie equivalent, it'd be something of a B movie; similar to Evil Dead. Cheesy, but awesome. Terrible acting, but still a good series of movies.

Oh, and gameplay is affected by the story, albeit sometimes in small ways =p

Fear this

If Bruce Campbell stared in Far Cry, it might be good. But the plot in Far Cry stank. Really bad. Far Cry was a great game, but if they had a decent plot, it might have been stellar.
