Two Inteviews with Gabe Newell - Orange Box and More

In my internet travels I have found two new interviews with Gabe Newell floating around in Cyber-Space! The first one is from Eurogamer and Gabe covers numerous topics including Steam, Half-Life 2 and the Orange Box! I'll let you all have a little teaser here.[br]

Eurogamer: Obviously people are expecting Portal to tie into Half-Life 2 in an interesting way, so the ending presumably has a resonance within the Half-Life world.[br]Gabe Newell: It does, and there are a lot of things in the environment if you decide to go looking for them. There's a story there - there's an even deeper story that's sort of embedded into the environment if you want to go looking for it and you're interested in that part of our games. I think that you'll learn more about the character you're playing and the events of Aperture Science as they relate to what happened at Black Mesa and subsequent games.

The PSS interview was the best Gabe interview I've read. Very candid, very refreshing. I guess that's what you get when you pair individual thoughts with an independant format.

Gabe seems like he really understands game development as well as the market. No wonder the HL games come out so great under his command.

I'm really looking forward to Portal's story now.

No he doesn't, I believe. I'm not sure of the reports but he doesn't say much about it--if anything at all.

I can not wait for the Orange Box!
