Wow, these days are really tough for me, I think i'm going through my mid-teen crisis :D. I just finished signing up for my junior classes and I realized: two years and I go to college! Holy s**t! Time goes by too fast.

As a result of my angsty teen days, I've been listening to a lot of classical :), it's very relaxing. I found that most time when I listen to classical, I tend to thing of angels.

The female angel was inspired by mozart's extremely beautiful and tragic: "Requiem in D minor".

The male angel was inspired by the second movement of Beethoven's very dramatic 5th symphony, which i'm sure you all know, at least the first movement, by name or not. (http://www.midifilearchive.com/Classical/5ThSynM1.MID)

To me the first drawing looks rushed and the neck and lips look dis-proportioned. But you seem to have the basic shape of the body all worked out in the second drawing.
Keep going!!
 
Haha, eatbugs, I always start a drawing then get angry and go: "omg f**k this" and just slap some lines on top of her head and call it hair. I think my main fault is impatience :/. But I do about 3 drawings a night, so I go fairly quickly through them. I should take up painting, that'll probably slow me down :).

Just between you and me, and everyone else that reads this, I like to, draw at least 4 pictures from the master's like Ingres, Da Vinci, Rembrant etc, a day just to get a hang of it all. I'll post two more pictures that I've done today!
 
What time? what Day? It's Tuesday and it's 4:43 pm in Kiwi land.
 
Holy, it's 10:30 on monday over here in california. I was just wondering because I'm used to european or east american boards and people don't often post at this time
 
Nice, I love the second :) And the shape of the head isn't quite right on the first..

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. And cremator, I love angels because I love beauty (which is why I listen to classical :P ). I have drawn demons in the past, but i'm over that.
 
As soon as I'm inspired to draw something good for a change :P.

On a side note, I just beat my record, it took me 66 days exactly to finish my 100 page sketchbook. each page has at least a rough sketch. Arent ya proud of me? :) I guess I could be a lazy ass like God and rest until day 77, but I'll keep drawing :). No offense biblics, I can't help my darwinist roots.

I just got a 40 page sketchbook on Sunday and I'm already past halfway. I mainly just practise and don't draw anything worthwhile. And, yes, yes, it's true! I do draw too much !!

Well, I think demon's wings are cooler in a way (like the dark side being cooler) :D
 
Well I'm not big on "cool" anymore. :)

And Shippi, that's actually a good idea :). I think I'll try that.
 
Fallen angels are so boring...

Draw a little boy with a can of peanut butter in one hand and a sharp knife in the other, chasing a little cat.
 
personally, I think drawing angels and fairies and demons is what you'd do when you were 5 but ahh well you're the artist, not me. (but actually I am the artist)

I guess that explains why Raphael drew angels then.

That's exactly the mindset of a "My art is more mature than your art" which is total bullshit. I don't tell people they're immature and I'm more sophisticated because I listen to Mozart and they listen to 50 Cent. I don't like to draw reality, you have photography for that. I use my art to express the surreal, what is on my imagination.

This is the kind of comments you have to watch out for eatbugs, they'll ruin you.

By the way, show me a drawing of a demon by a 5 year old. To my knowledge, 5 year olds don't even know what demons are.

It's true, I do seem to stir things up inadvertantly by not properly wording my comments.
WHAT I MEANT, is that it's not the best subject matter because angels can come in all shapes and sizes and noone can say "Oh dear Gawd that doesn't look like an angel" because there are no real angels to judge your picture by. If you get what I'm trying to say. I really think it's not what someone at 16 should be drawing, instead I'd practise how to draw a proper body. But of course, you don't have to listen to my logic, just do whatever suits you!!
 
But all my angels are are humans with wings :). I'm still studying anatomy and faces just adding my little touch.

And it's funny that sometimes you let yourself go, but always listen to reason :).

If you're talking about Constantine that movie sucked. But apparently there is an Angel hierarchy. Protectors like St Michael at the top who control the Universe to accord with God's rule, an upper middle class that communicates with God so that they can tell another class below them on how to help out us, because those angels can't talk to God and us or something. a middle class that helps humans like i just mentioned and Cherubs which....**** i dunno what Cherubs do.

No idea how i came upon this info...i think i was looking up some conspiracy stuff and stumbled across some link to this. Its something like that anyway. Anywho, i'll stop talking.
