Two Steam Accounts - 1 HL2 Product Code

Probably been answred before. But i cant seem to find it on the FAQ.

Anyways me and my brother, brought HL2 recently, and play it on the same computer. Trouble is we are in two different clans, we use different settings and stuff.

Was wondering if i can create another account and enter the same product code? And play them both, from the same computer?

Bu anyway, no you can't use the key twice, they can ban you for trying. If you don't like it, as suggested, you can in theory sue them. But your case will be thrown out and you will be paying huge legal fees.

And your case will be posted everywhere with the words "owned" on it in 48 font red letters...

Hi,

I guess you could do the following:

Put each of your preferences in 2 different cfg files
i.e. make a zelnaga.cfg and put your preferences there, and another cfg file for your brother's preferences.

Then, make shortcuts to 2 hl2 shortcuts on desktop. Right click one of them and add the following after -applaunch 220:

-exec zelnaga.cfg

The above basically executes your cfg file (zelnaga.cfg). Do the same for your brother for the other shortcut, and also, assuming that your clan play is in css or hl2dm, then you will have to change the number after the applaunch command, or make shortcuts for those. CSS is number 240.

However, this is only good for ingame preferences, your friends list and server list etc will have to be identical.

I agree with the rest of the posts here, I dont think you can use your product code for 2 users in the way you mention.
